FYI

We believe that Jesus is the one and only unique Son of God. We believe that He lived a sinless life. We believe that His willing death paid the penalty for our sin, that His resurrection gives us hope, and that through His name we are given the power to live an authentic, new life.

We follow Jesus’ teachings. To love God first and best, to love others as much as He loves us, and to live for something bigger than ourselves.

We value Jesus’ directive to tell His story wherever we can and to prove words with actions.

We are one branch of the world-wide community of Jesus followers. Because we believe that everyone becomes and achieves more together than anyone can alone, we meet regularly for encouragement, support, and inspiration.

We welcome you to join the journey.

We envision a Resurrection community where:

  • We connect people to Jesus
  • We worship passionately and authentically
  • We bless the Hastings area
  • We develop Christian leaders
  • We look like our community

As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

Resurrection is a Christian church of Methodist heritage. We share with Christians throughout history faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior of the world. We look to the bible for inspiration and instruction. And we affirm the basic statements of faith found in such creeds as the Apostles’ Creed. Aside from faith in Christ, we do not all think alike, but are committed to growing together as a community bound by Christ’s love.

The United Methodist Church is a global church with mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Its founder, John Wesley, and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on the grace of God freely offered to each person, and on putting faith and love into action. All about community

Resurrection Church is located in the heart of the community at 615 West 15th Hastings, MN, across from Pioneer Park. Our building is used free of charge by various groups nearly seven days each week, including Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts, Brownies, MOPS Group, Homeschoolers Coop, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Gamblers Anonymous.

Staying power

Our Hastings roots run deep. In 1854, a circuit-riding preacher arrived to find a dozen families eager to start a church. By 1861, the congregation of 161 members built a church building on the corner of 5th and Vermillion Streets, which was later moved to 8th and Vermillion where it still stands today. When the congregation outgrew that building in 1959, Resurrection moved to its current location at the corner of Maple and 15th Street across from Pioneer Park, where continued growth has resulted in several expansions and updates to the facility.

Worship Services

We gather in community to worship on Sunday mornings at 8:30 (traditional) and 10 (contemporary). Live online services are also broadcast at these times via Facebook and YouTube.

rezKIDS for age 3 through grade 5 happens at the 10a. Sunday service. Nursery for children birth-age 2 is available at the 10a service.

Wednesday Nights

During the school year, a freshly prepared free dinner is served at 6p to anyone interested. It’s a great way to meet neighbors and get to know one another better. Oasis (grades 6-12) welcomes middle school and high schoolers with a free dinner at 6p, followed by fun activities, a message, and small group discussion from 6:30-8p.
