Weekly Support Groups

Individuals battling addiction find a caring environment at Resurrection, receiving the support and friendship that allows them to become the persons they have always wanted to be. Support groups meet weekly.

Care Team

Stephen Ministers provide a confidential, one-on-one listening friendship to persons experiencing various difficulties of life.

One-on-one Listening Friendship

Lay individuals from the church provide a confidential, one-on-one listening friendship to persons experiencing various difficulties of life. While they do not give advice or counsel, they do share the compassionate love and mercy of God with people in the church and community by listening as a friend.

Meals on Wheels

Deliver a provided meal at lunchtime to homebound individuals every other Monday throughout the year.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Hand-made shawls, lap robes and prayer cloths are covered in prayer from start to finish.

Blessing to Others

You can work on your project in a group setting or at home. Instructions provided. A representative of the church delivers the shawl, lap robe or prayer cloth gift to persons experiencing pain or loss. Each recipient treasures the on-going comfort their “tapestry of prayer” provides.

Jail Ministry

A powerful reminder that they have not been forgotten and that there is always hope for a second chance.

Cornerstone Jail Ministries

Trained volunteers from Resurrection UMC and eight other area churches meet to design and implement a weekly service for 75-100 inmates of the Dakota County Jail. Those who attend this service will hear about the love of Jesus and can receive individual prayer.

Wednesday Dinner

Free meal served weekly to anyone interested in good food and fellowship, plus the students/staff in Oasis.

Served at 6:00 pm

During the school year, a freshly prepared meal is served every Wednesday evening to any needing good food and fellowship, plus the youth attending Oasis. A team of volunteers plans, purchases, prepares, and serves with warm hospitality. Suggested donation of $1 to help cover the cost.

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith put their love in action on behalf of women, children, and youth.

Meet Monthly

Meet monthly, plus hold a bake sale in the spring and garage sale in the fall. Contact Helen Meier (651) 437-9750 or Verna Fuller (651) 437-9653.

Adopt-A-Highway

We meet twice a year to keep Hastings looking good by cleaning up a section of highway.

Spring (and Fall) Cleaning

Garbage bags, fluorescent green safety vests, and gloves are supplied. The more volunteers, the faster we finish.

Music Ministry

A great way for musicians and vocalists to use their gifts and talents for the benefit of others.

United Methodist Women

All about missions and service, United Methodist Women are centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ. They pledge to provide financial support for missions locally and globally, and to encourage service, leadership, and personal growth in the women of the church. Some activities include:

  • Raising funds for mission programs with twice-yearly salad luncheons.
  • Meeting monthly for fellowship and study.
  • Making the stoles for young people being confirmed.

ZOE: Helping Children Feed Themselves

380 million children living in extreme poverty will rely on charity forever. Together, we can change that. Resurrection has committed to help empower vulnerable children to overcome poverty through a three-year empowerment program with ZOE.
