I hate to throw anything away. Just because something’s a little over its “best by” date doesn’t mean I’m just going to throw it out. The other day I looked at a label and it said “Mar 2022”. I started doing the mental calculations: Let’s see, March to November is 8 months. 8 months past the “best by” date is starting to get into the territory where it’s questionable even for me. I sat pondering whether to throw it out. And then it hit me. March 2022. It was a year and 8 months past its expiration date. My mind had lost a whole year! Where does time go?

You might be thinking that when I tell you it’s time to get ready for the holidays. Only 2½ weeks until Thanksgiving. Only 7 weeks until Christmas. Time sure flies. So let me give you a heads up on the special things happening at Resurrection so you don’t miss them.

  • Wednesday, November 22 – Thanksgiving service (+ pie)
  • Thursday, November 23 – Thanksgiving community meal
  • Saturday, December 2 – Service of Remembrance for those dealing with loss
  • Friday, December 8 – Special Advent service with Craig Wasner and friends
  • Sunday, December 10 – rezKIDS Christmas program as part of the 10:00 service
  • Sunday, December 24 – Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship services at 4:00 & 7:00 p.m. (no morning services)

Eating food 20 months past its expiration date is probably not the best idea. Its time has come and gone. But it’s always the right time to worship the Lord. Whether it’s at a regular Sunday worship service or at one of these special services, I hope to see you in church this coming holiday season.

God bless you,
Pastor Mark
