“The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.– Proverbs 18:15 NIV

Did you ever wish you could go back in time and do something you missed out on in your youth? Perhaps it was the prom you never got to attend, or the instrument you never learned to play, or the team you wished you had joined. Occasionally, someone will tell me they wish they had had confirmation so they could have learned the basics of the Christian faith. Others attended confirmation classes as a teen but didn’t really pay attention, so they wish they could have a do-over.

Well, if this is you, now you have the opportunity. During Lent and Easter this year, I will be offering a Christianity Basics class using the same curriculum the confirmation students used in the first semester this year. It’s seven quick weeks covering topics such as:

  • Who is Jesus, and why should I follow him?
  • How to use the bible
  • What does the bible say about prayer, forgiveness, evil, and fear?

Everyone is invited, whether or not you’ve ever had a course like this before. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm starting March 18 and ending May 6. (I will offer the second semester at a later date to complete the course.)

Remember: Lent begins Wednesday, February 18. The Ash Wednesday Service is at 7:00 pm.
