Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Is that really the case?
At our Fall Festival this month we had 200-300 people from the community receive free hayrides, pumpkins, pie and popcorn, games and face painting. Those I talked to were very appreciative and felt wonderfully blessed with a great afternoon. The kids especially had a blast and I saw many resisting the call to go home. But were they the more blessed?

I think Kim and Colleen Tharp would disagree. Seeing the joy on Kim’s face as he drove young and old around on the hay wagons and Collen beam as people enjoyed their hospitality, I think it was obvious that they had the better end of the deal.

I think Jesus knew what he was talking about. Whether it be giving a hayride or giving to support the church or giving our love to a person who needs it, I have always found Jesus to be true to his word. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
