JUL 06 / Sunday Read Luke 5:1-11
Overview: When things seem beyond reason or our capabilities, we often discover with Jesus we can do far more than we could ask or think. Nothing is impossible for Jesus.
07 / Mon – Something seemingly illogical | Read Luke 5:1-11
Every fisherman has a story. Pastor Mark’s happened on Topsail Beach in North Carolina where, within half an hour, he caught a cooler full of beautiful fish. In this story, the fishermen were pros, this was their business. But when they failed, they were willing to accept advice, from a traveling rabbi, with incredible results. Are you struggling in some area, doing the best you can but finding only failure? God will do the impossible as you listen and obey. Where can He help you today?
08 / Tue – For 14,610 consecutive days | Read Num 1:45-46 / Ex 16:11-15, 35 / Ex 17:3-6
A census revealed that 603,550 men (20 years and older) plus women and children came out of Egypt in the exodus. Scholars estimate there may have been a total of 3 million people. Who could feed that many every day?! God did. He sent quail for meat, made fresh water flow out of solid rock and sent bread, daily, for 40 years. When you run low on the necessities of life, will you trust God for the impossible? If so, why not thank Him in advance? It’s a great way to bless His heart.
09 / Wed – Rock-solid truth | Read Luke 1:26-28, 34-37, 45
Mary was a person for whom the impossible happened. It wasn’t something she wanted or asked for. It was a singular honor given to this unassuming young woman because God knew He could trust her. What promise did the angel give her in v37? In the middle of Elizabeth’s own miracle, what encouraging words did she offer Mary in v45? It is unlikely any of your experiences can compare to theirs, but are you willing to say yes so God can do the impossible in your life?
10 / Thu – Exhibit A | Read Acts 9:17-22
Do you know someone, who seems so far gone, you think they are beyond redemption? Saul knew and scrupulously followed God’s law, but he didn’t really know God. His passion to ‘defend’ God’s honor led him to imprison anyone who followed the heretic Jesus’ teachings and watched with approval when they were executed. Could God save such a person? He did, and Saul became Paul. Take heart from this example of God’s ability to totally transform a person who is going down the wrong road. Be persistent in prayer and keep trusting God to do a miracle. He answers prayer!
11 / Fri – Adventures await | Read Ephesians 3:20
There are people who have amazing imaginations and the things they create could blow your mind. You have probably heard something like this… if you can conceive it, you can achieve it. To some extent, that is true. But what about the things God wants to do that far outstrip anything you can ask for or even imagine? What does the second part of the verse say? You start by asking God to show you what He wants. Then follow His direction to the first step. Will you do this?
12 / Sat – Confidence | Read 1 John 5:14-15
You can ask God for anything and He will answer. Every single time. It may be a resounding yes. Other times it will be no (for good reason). Sometimes you’ll hear not yet or wait. If you trust that God loves you and has created the perfect plan for your ultimate good, then you can be content with the answer He gives. Are you acting on the prerequisite Jesus gave in John 15:7? If so, then you’ll know what to ask for and it will happen. God is faithful and worthy of your trust.
