JAN 21 / Sunday – Read Luke 9:1-2
Overview: Believers have been used by God at times to reveal his power to the world. It’s a good reminder to check that you’re still plugged in.
22 / Mon – Power Charge | Read Ephesians 1:19-20
The power of prayer. Today’s scripture shows us the enormity of these words. It is the same power (dunamis) that God exerted to raise Jesus from the dead. That is a gigantic, incredible power that we literally hold in our hands when we are fully spiritually charged through connection to the Holy Spirit. Dynamite Prayer offers ways to connect or reconnect to this supernatural charge. What might you do that might strengthen the dunamis of your prayers?
23 / Tue – Power Prayer for Others | Read Ephesians 3:16-19
In this scripture, Paul tells us about how wide, long, high, and deep Christ’s love is, surpassing all knowledge. Praying for others fills us to the brim and beyond with God’s fullness and brings spiritual blessings back to us as well, although it might be difficult to do when we have our own trials in life. Have you found yourself praying even harder for others during those times? How has this enriched your connection to God and your prayer life?
24 / Wed – Guides and Provides | Read Ephesians 3:20-21 (NASB)
The scripture says that God can do more than we ask or think. Prayer power is God working within us when we completely hand situations over to Him, understanding that God works in His time and plans, not ours. Authors Picardo/Kibbey write that when we pray, God hears and wisely answers us. Wisely, in ways we may or may not readily see or understand in the moment. Have you ever been surprised by God’s answers? Did His intent become clear as you waited on His time, not yours?
25 / Thu – Walk and Talk | Read 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5
God has chosen you. Not just with words but with the power (dunamis) of the Holy Spirit. You have humbly chosen and surrendered yourself to Him. This is where actions speak louder than words. God’s actions always match what He says. As we live in this fallen world, our human sinful nature might sometimes get the best of us. Have you ever found yourself considering whether or not a relationship, life choice, habit, or something else honors your relationship with God?
26 / Fri – God’s Promises | Read Romans 4:20-21
Abraham’s faith in God did not waver. Although God chose him, he still sinned. Even so, his faith remained steady and solid, up to and including his willingness to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, in order to obey God. It would have been understandable if he had questioned or even run from God at that time, but he didn’t. Has your faith ever been shaken? If so, what was your pathway back to strong faith?
27 / Sat – Dunamis Wisdom and Everything We Need | Read I Cor 1:21-25 / 2 Peter 1:3
The Holy Spirit is the bottomless cup that comforts and sustains us when we bring our concerns directly to God and let Him be in complete control of timing and outcomes, and then be willing to accept those outcomes. Sometimes they are not what we expect or want, making acceptance difficult. Other times we are overjoyed at God’s answers. Either way, are you prepared to surrender your prayers to God’s infinite wisdom and timing? Is there a Bible verse you can memorize that speaks to your heart and keeps your faith strong?
