Filling 100 Bags on November 23
Hastings Family Service has requested from the churches of Hastings 100 Emergency Food Bags per week through the end of the year. Resurrection Church has agreed to provide all 100 of these bags for the week of Thanksgiving. These bags are different than the usual food requests. They have very specific content, and their purpose is to tide families over for a day or two until they can get a regular appointment with HFS.
Resurrection will purchase all the food in bulk, (i.e., don’t bring food items), and following each service on November 23, the congregation will fill these bags so they can be delivered the next day. It is estimated that each bag of food will cost around $8.
