A significant time of faith growth and learning

PURPOSE

Our Confirmation program is designed to help students know, love, and serve Jesus throughout their lives. It culminates in a public profession of their faith at their confirmation and their reception as a professing member of Resurrection Church.

PROGRAM

The Confirmation program is taught by Pastor Mark Miller and open to any student grades 7-12. This year, our classes will be held as two 7-week semesters, meeting on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm in room 111. Free dinner is available at 6:00 pm, and all students are welcome to eat before class. Semester 1 will begin on October 1 and run through November 19. (We will not meet on October 15 due to the MEA break.) Semester 2 will begin January 7 and run through February 18. Confirmation Sunday will be held on a yet to be determined date in the spring.

Confirmation Sunday: Will be held in the spring on a date (or dates) that fit the schedules of the students and their families. We will have one additional meeting before that time to prepare the students for the confirmation service.

FINAL NOTE

Whether your student already has a deep faith in Christ, or they are just starting to explore what that means, this program will be a valuable time for them. However, just because someone has finished the program doesn’t mean they are ready to make a public profession of faith in Christ. Please respect your student’s integrity by not forcing them to be confirmed if they are not ready. (Note: Pastor Mark skipped his own confirmation after completing the program and didn’t profess his faith until several months later.) That said, I hope you will make it possible for your student to participate. Please contact Pastor Mark if you have any questions, or would like more information.

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
