FYI
We promise you won’t like everything here. But if you want a church with real people, living real lives, with real faith in a real God, then there just might be something here for you. And we promise to try to figure out this faith journey thing together.
We believe that Jesus is the one and only unique Son of God. We believe that His willing death paid the penalty for our sin, that His resurrection gives us hope, and that through His name we are given the power to live an authentic, new life.
We follow Jesus’ teachings: to love God first and best, love others as much as He loves us, and to live for something bigger than ourselves.
We value Jesus’ directive to tell His story wherever we can and to prove words with actions.
We are one branch of the world-wide community of Jesus followers. Because we believe that everyone becomes and achieves more together than anyone can alone, we meet regularly for encouragement, support, and inspiration.
We welcome you to join the journey.
- We connect people to Jesus
- We worship passionately and authentically
- We bless the Hastings area
- We develop Christian leaders
- We look like our community
As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.
Resurrection is a Christian church of Methodist heritage. We share with Christians throughout history faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior of the world. We look to the bible for inspiration and instruction. And we affirm the basic statements of faith found in such creeds as the Apostles’ Creed. Aside from faith in Christ, we do not all think alike, but are committed to growing together as a community bound by Christ’s love.
The United Methodist Church is a global church with mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Its founder, John Wesley, and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on the grace of God freely offered to each person, and on putting faith and love into action.
