19 / Sunday Read Hebrews 10:19-25

Overview: God doesn’t just offer an eternal promise—he gives the reason he can keep it, along with all the inherent benefits.

20 / Mon – Unprecedented access  |  Read Ephesians 3:12 / 1 John 3:19-20

How is it possible for flawed human beings to approach a holy God? Only through faith in Christ Jesus. Because love made it possible, sin was dealt with, and his sacrifice opened the way. How do you approach God when you pray? The devil wants you to feel guilty or unworthy or filled with doubt. These are contrary to what God says about welcoming you into His presence. There is no safer place, no better place to be. Will you come with confidence?

21 / Tue – Praying like Jesus did  |  Read Matthew 6:5-15

Relationships grow when there are conversations. The more frequently people talk to each other, the better they get to know one another. Isn’t it amazing that we can connect with the Lord God Almighty and have conversations with Him? Jesus spent much time talking with his Father and taught his disciples how to have those conversations, too. These verses may be very familiar, but will you ask the Holy Spirit to give you three new insights that you can apply when you talk to the Lord today?

22 / Wed – Overwhelming situations  |  Read 2nd Chronicles 20:2-18, 22-30 (esp v12, 15)

Are you honest with God when you pray? You can be. He knows what is going on in your life and in your heart, so you may as well bring it out for discussion. Do you need help in a specific situation? Have you tried all you know to do, but nothing has changed? This is a prayer you can adopt for times like these. God’s people were in a desperate situation. King Jehosophat was specific in his prayer and gave the problem to God. He answered them, and He will answer you.

23 / Thu – Distractions  |  Read 2nd Corinthians 10:3-5

Do you find it difficult to pray at times? Do all kinds of thoughts distract you, and it becomes hard to focus? It is a common tactic the enemy uses to take your mind away from the One you are talking with. The devil knows the powerful effect prayer has on every situation you bring to the Lord. So what can you do? Remember, this is a spiritual battle and you have powerful weapons at your disposal to thwart the enemy. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you take charge of random thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. He will. Every time you ask.

24 / Fri – Promises  |  Read Isaiah 49:25b / Isaiah 54:13 / Isaiah 44:3-5

One great strategy in fighting doubt is to remind the Lord and yourself of His promises. These verses are an example of what one mom prays for her children as she asks the Lord to do what He said He would do. Do you have children you pray over? Maybe yours or someone else’s? What are some other situations that concern you? Find the promises that apply and bring them up in your conversations with the Lord. He will always keep His word. Always.

25 / Sat – Confidence  |  Read John 15:7 / 1st John 5:14-15

You can talk to the Lord with confidence because He hears you and will answer the requests you bring before Him. Be bold. Be persistent. When you know you are praying for something that is His will, you can be confident He’ll answer at just the right time. Don’t be discouraged if sometimes you have to wait to see those answers. And while you wait, remind yourself that He knows what He is doing. His timing is always perfect. Will you trust Him on that? Tell Him so.
