FEB 11  / Sunday – Read Romans 1:16

Overview: There’s nothing quite like the energy realized from a nuclear reaction. But it’s no more than a tiny spark compared to the power of the Gospel.

12 / Mon – What are you looking at?  |  Read 2 Chronicles 20:1-30, especially v 12, 15

Life throws a lot at us, sometimes in quick succession, and the feeling of not being in control can be overwhelming. The good news is that God doesn’t expect or want you to handle life on your own. This king laid out in detail what he and his people were facing. Read what God did in response. Today we have the Holy Spirit’s power working through us. It is always available any time of the day or night. It never runs out. Are you facing something out of your control? If you humbly echo King Jehosphaphat’s prayer, God will do for you what you cannot do for yourself.

13 / Tue – Obedient action is required  |  Read Joshua 6:1-20 / Hebrews 11:30

To obey God means to do what pleases Him. Sometimes that seems easier said than done. God’s instructions to Joshua and his people seemed an odd way to enter a battle. Your ‘battle’ may not be like Joshua’s. Maybe the Holy Spirit is prompting you to make amends, drop a bad habit that you really like, or do something else that will be difficult for you but is right in His eyes. Surrender everything to His will. Do you have enough faith in God’s character and power to obey Him?

14 / Wed – Examine your prayer goal  |  Read 1 Kings 18:16-39, especially v 36-37

Has there ever been a circumstance or time when you felt uncertain about what God’s intention or purpose was for you? God is always there to listen and to guide you.There truly is power in prayer. Ask Him to provide the direction and discernment needed to confidently follow His will for your life. Consider today’s scripture. What was Elijah’s prayer goal (v 37)? How did God display His power as a result? What was the people’s reaction in v 39? Do you see any parallel needs in today’s world?

15 / Thu – A breakthrough prayer  |  Read Ephesians 3:20

As you continue the adventure of praying dynamite prayers, this one might help you keep your heart open to all God wants to do in and through you. Holy Spirit, reveal your will for me and unleash new life. Breakthrough all that would block me from accomplishing your purpose for me. I expect the unexpected because you are able to do far beyond what I could ask or imagine. Consider making this a daily prayer. And then would you be willing to share your story with others?

16 / Fri – Face value  |  Read 2 Corinthians 4:18 / 2 Corinthians 5:7

Some people take things at face value. If you do so when reading or watching the news, you’d think nothing good is happening anywhere. Things are not always as they seem, even in bad situations. God is constantly at work everywhere, here and around the world, to accomplish His purposes. It is important to pray about disturbing events but do not let the devil suck you into a whirlpool of worry or despair. Look up. God is doing more than you know and differently than you might expect. Will you ask God to show you life from His perspective? That is where you’ll find peace.

17 / Sat – Bigger than dynamite  |  Read Romans 1:16

We started out this series talking about the explosive power of dynamite but there is a power far greater. Nuclear power. A small amount of nuclear fuel can blow up a city or, when installed in a power plant, can provide electricity for many cities. You may have heard stories from others about the breakthrough power of the Holy Spirit in their lives, but the most powerful story of all is the Gospel story. How has the power of the gospel changed your life?
