The Apostle Paul starts off eight of his letters in the bible by thanking the persons he’s writing to. To the church in Rome, he writes “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you” (Romans 1:8). To the Corinthian church he writes “I always thank my God for you” (1 Corinthians 1:4). And he tells the Thessalonians “How can we thank God enough for you?” (1 Thessalonians 3:9). Paul was thankful for the work of his church friends.
As I mentioned last week, this is a very busy fall at Resurrection. And behind every ministry are faithful Christians who make it happen. From the dozens of helpers who made the outdoor worship, picnic and Great Stuff! mission sale a success, to the cooks who feed more and more of our community each Wednesday, to the prayer teams holding our needs up to God, and of course to the generous givers whose support allows for all the rest to happen…I say “Thank you! Thank you, Jesus, for such wonderful people.”
I’ve mentioned before that fall is my favorite season and this week we should see peak colors and lovely fall temperatures. Enjoy them and keep being the wonderful servants of Christ that you are.
In Christ,
Pastor Mark
P.S. Thanks in advance for all of you who’ll be helping with the Fall Festival at Kim and Colleen Tharp’s farm this Saturday (OCT 08). Last year we had about 300 attend from all over the community, so it takes a lot of work. I am grateful for all you do.
