It was a long six weeks between the discovery of the growth in my eye and when I could get an appointment with an eye cancer specialist. Waiting and not knowing is hard. But I didn’t wait alone. You were there for me in prayer. I know that because of all the emails, phone calls, and conversations at church. You laid hands on me, sent cards, and left me notes. I can’t thank you enough. I can truly say that the longer I waited, and the more you prayed, the more peace I felt. I went to the appointment ready to hear any result.
As I mentioned last week in worship, the results were wonderful. It is benign and the only follow-up I will need is to run the tests every six months to make sure nothing changes. Praise the Lord. And praise to you for being a church that prays.
I want to encourage you to keep praying. Pray for your brothers and sisters at Resurrection. Pray for the world. Pray for me as your pastor. If you like you can join the email prayer chain and be alerted to the various prayer needs of our congregation. Contact Dan Kocher in the church office to join the list or to add your prayer request for the group to lift up. (contact info for Dan) If you prefer an in-person prayer group, there is one that meets every Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 am in the church library. And of course, you can pray anytime and anywhere the Spirit moves you.
Thank you for being a praying church. And God bless you with a wonderful week.
In Christ,
Pastor Mark
