There is a song about Christmas that says “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” But I beg to differ; I think fall is the most wonderful time. Coolers days, but no snow. Trees lighting up with color. Football games and hunting seasons. Corn mazes and apple picking. Fields ripe for the harvest. Fall is a great time of year.
It’s also a great time to come to church at Resurrection.
We kick off the fall with Apple Pie and Ice Cream Sunday on September 8 as I conclude the Heaven’s Kitchen series by looking at bible references to apples, and then demonstrate how to make an apple pie. Free pie and ice cream after the services.
On September 15, we have our annual outdoor Worship + Picnic at 10:00a in Pioneer Park across the street. (No 8:30a service that day). I will be introducing our fall series of messages based on Romans 12, on having a victorious life in Jesus.
There are many more fall activities, too: The great Stuff Bake Sale on September 22. Confirmation on September 29. The Fall Fest at Tharp’s Farm on October 12. And of course, the free weekly community meals are served each Wednesday beginning September 11.
Fall this year will truly be a most wonderful time. Enjoy it!
See you at church,
Pastor Mark
