In 1982 Richard Proudfit, a Minnesota businessman, returned from a mission trip to Honduras and heard God say, “If you’ve seen my starving children, feed them.” So he developed Feed My Starving Children. FMSC uses a unique model based on volunteers packing a simple rice-based meal that combats malnutrition. In 2023, 436,759,464 meals were shipped to 64 different countries, enough to feed over a million kids for an entire year. FMSC is a Christian organization that receives no government funding, relying solely on donations and volunteers.

On Wednesday, February 28, you have the opportunity to be one of those volunteers. Resurrection UMC has reserved spots at the Eagan packing facility from 7:00-8:45p. The group will be leaving REZ at 6:25p, or you can drive yourself directly as well (990 Lone Oak Rd, #136, Eagan). There are a limited number of spots, so please sign-up online or in the foyer.

I have packed meals at FMSC several times and found it simple and enjoyable. I’ve eaten one of the meals, too. It tastes kind of like Rice-A-Roni. To me, it was quite good. Imagine how special those meals would taste to a child suffering from hunger.

Thanks for all you do to love God and your neighbor.

Blessings,
Pastor Mark
